The Gulbenkian Human Development Programme (PGDH) began a new five-year cycle in 2014. Its strategy draws from the knowledge gained from the first cycle, the results of external evaluation, the guidelines of the Advisory Council and, above all, the new configuration of the principal social problems.

Strategy

Between 2014 and 2018, the Programme policy organized itself into three dimensions:

  • Facilitating social inclusion of persons in high-risk situations, through experimental projects that can replicated and draw from strategic partnerships;
  • Reinforcing the intervention and resilience of social organizations through efficient and effective results
  • Expanding the knowledge of the consequences and impact of social problems and their possible solutions through the observation of anticipatory signs of social change

In a similar manner, the interventions organize themselves into the following strategic areas:
The PEOPLE of an inclusive society, destined to promote the social integration of people in high-risk situations
The ORGANIZATIONS in a converging economy, whose objective is to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of social organizations
The KNOWLEDGE and the future to promote a deeper understanding and debate to anticipate the future
